1. Introducing Apple Remote Desktop 3 .....................................
Think managing multiple computers is hard?
Not if you're using Apple Remote Desktop 3, the best way to manage the Mac computers on your network. Perfect for schools. Ideal for business. Apple Remote Desktop 3 lets you distribute software, create reports, configure systems, automate repetitive system management tasks, and provide real-time, online help. Whether your systems are all in the same room. Or a continent apart.
What's more, the first Universal version of our award-winning desktop management application builds on such Mac OS X "Tiger" features as Spotlight, Dashboard, and Automator, as well as offering over 50 great new features, including:
* Remote Spotlight Search * Automator actions * AutoInstall * Curtain mode * Remote drag-and-drop * Power Copy * System Status Indicators * Application Usage and User History Reports
Learn all about these new features--and the new widget you can use to observe remote systems--by visiting the Apple Remote Desktop website.

2. Advertising the Mac Advantage ................................
Apple Remote Desktop, says Mike McHargue, chief technology guru for the Zimmerman Agency, "is my magic bullet." By every standard, he explains, "our 100-person organization should need three people to handle basic IT needs. With Apple Remote Desktop, we only need one--me."
How does the thriving ad agency take advantage of the complete desktop management solution for Mac OS X?
"With Apple Remote Desktop, I deploy new software and software updates across the entire organization with a single click. And it really starts to shine when I need to reconfigure workstations on a departmental or even company-wide basis." In fact, technologies like Apple Remote Desktop have helped the Zimmerman Agency grow exponentially. "If Mac wasn't a core part of our strategy," states founder Curtis Zimmerman, "we wouldn't be where we are today."

3. Fashioning a Winning Workflow ................................
For the fashion set, the event took BIG to new heights. The legendary Karl Lagerfeld had never before shared his own designs from a US runway. So New York's Fashion Week loomed as a world-notable debut, and Lagerfeld wanted the press to leave the show with something as special as the occasion. An electronic press kit with images of all his new designs.
Of course, for the press to walk off with such a hot product, show photos had to be captured, downloaded, edited, color corrected, keyworded, sorted, and burned to DVD in record time. A photo-finish handily accomplished. Thanks to Aperture.
"It's incomprehensible to think how we would have done it without Aperture," says Core creative director John Dames. "We wouldn't even have been able to look at that many shots, let alone organize them and make selects, in the time we had."

4. Aperture. New Version. New Price. ....................................
On April 13, we made Aperture 1.1 available as a free download to owners of Aperture 1.0 via Software Update. The first Universal version of our all-in-one post-production tool for pro photographers provides support for both PowerPC- and Intel-based Macs. In addition, Aperture 1.1 offers dramatically improved RAW image rendering, new RAW Fine Tuning controls, auto noise correction, a built-in Color Meter, enhanced export controls, and dozens of other improvements.

And because we'd like even more photographers to enjoy this revolutionary photo management application, we're also now making Aperture 1.1 available at an irresistible price. Just $299.

6. Filming, Editing and "Building Green" ........................................
If you still think it isn't easy being green, talk to actor and environmentally friendly builder Keven Contreras. Or, better yet, watch his new, thirteen-episode PBS series "Building Green." In it, Contreras and partner Michael Mattioli take us through all of the "choices and steps involved in creating healthy, energy-efficient homes," tapping a growing market trend in the process.
Mattioli--a composer, sound designer, and musician by trade--not only scored the film project but also added editing credits to his vita, learning Final Cut Pro on the job. And despite being almost entirely "green" at the editing biz, Mattioli proved a natural, deftly pruning over 150 hours of footage.
"Being able to create and refine every element of the series on our Macs made this project possible. We didn't have the money to hire a production staff, so we did the editing ourselves."

7. Take Me Out to the... ........................
Or just take the ballgame with you on iPod. With the wide variety of baseball programming from MLB.com available on iTunes, you can keep your head in the game anywhere and at any time of the day.
Subscribe to "Radio Rewind," for example, and you'll get a daily rundown of all the action 'round the league. Tons of fans also get a daily baseball fix courtesy of "MLB Radio Daily." Featuring material originating on the Internet's only all-baseball radio station, the show rates such appraisals as "awesome," "amazing," "perfect," and "wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww."
Other MLB podcasts let you get expert advice from the Fantasy Crew and "check the runners"--those up-and-coming ballplayers currently in the minors but who could get their turn at bat any time now. Batter up.

Thanks to a collaboration between Index Braille AB and Sighted Electronics, you can now print files to the Index line of Braille embossers. Install the Universal print drivers, and you'll be able to print text from any application as contracted or un-contracted Braille--the iBraille Text to Braille translator automatically translates the text into Braille during embossing. And shortly, Index Braille also expects to release iBraille, a new Universal Braille Editor that will allow you to "format Braille documents and do full scale Braille production" on both PowerPC- and Intel-based Macintosh computers.

Pre-order it from the iTunes Music Store, and in addition to the 13 Seeger songs Springsteen performs, you'll receive two music videos: "O Mary Don't You Weep" and "Jacob's Ladder," the latter available only if you pre-order.
