Network evening news broadcasts ignored McCain's "disgrace" remark about Social Security The evening news programs on ABC, NBC, and CBS have yet to cover Sen. John McCain's statement regarding Social Security -- that "Americans have got to understand that we are paying present-day retirees with the taxes paid by young workers in America today. And that's a disgrace. It's an absolute disgrace, and it's got to be fixed" -- even though they have broadcast other remarks McCain made at the same town hall meeting. He also said he "suspects that there are agents of Iran who have set these forest fires to a certain extent."
