 This will be the last "official Newsletter" of My Forever Child. Since this newsletter is all done manually in hard coded html, it is very time consuming for me to create and proofread. That's why I can never seem to issue it on time and on a consistent schedule. It keeps getting pushed to the back burner until I can get a good chunk of uninterrupted free time to work on it. Those days are fewer and further between lately. As technology has evolved, I have found a more effective way to keep you updated on all the latest happenings. Many of you already know that I have a "Blog". This has been a great way for me to quickly and easily publish info, pictures, and the related links. But I just found a new program that will allow the subscribers to receive the Blog Posts directly into their email! If you already are using a favorite feed reader like Bloglines, Google Reader, etc., you can sign up to receive the blog posts in your reader. Just make sure to check in with your reader periodically to catch up on the latest posts! So how is this going to be different from the newsletters? Well, it definitely will be updated more regularly! I try to post once a week, sometimes twice if there's something really exciting going on. You'll know all about the newest products, special sales, free giveaways that other sites are running on my products (that you can also enter to win), customer participation giveaways, and a free monthly drawing for all blog subscribers. When you subscribe, you are automatically entered to win the monthly drawing. So if you like getting these newsletters from me, you'll love getting the blog posts and be able to know all about the latest products, sales, and free giveaways, as soon as they happen! But here's the catch...this uses a completely different program than the newsletter you are reading now. You'll need to re-sign up for this new program. It's a double opt-in system, so you have to then check your email and click on the link provided in the confirmation email. This ensures that no one is signing you up without your permission. Of course it's free, and you can unsubscribe anytime, I won't be offended :-) I promise not to clog up your inbox with needless things that don't matter. My Forever Child will be making donations to CureSearch.org and the Ronald McDonald House, which provides housing for families during their child's treatments. Leave it burning for at least an hour, so that there will be a continuous wave of light around the globe in remembrance of our precious little ones, gone too soon. For Long Islanders, there is the 5th Annual Walk to Remember hosted by Winthrop University Hospital Perinatal Bereavement Program on Saturday, October 4th from 10am to 2pm. At Eisenhower Park Field 5, in East Meadow. You can register on the day of the event, but if you are definitely going to attend, please call Margaret at (516) 663-9363 with a head count of how many will be attending, so that they can order enough food. It is $25 per person, or $40 per couple, seniors $15, children under 12 are free. The Walk to Remember is a beautiful and solemn event that we have attended every year. There is a candle lighting with the baby's names read, various inspirational speakers, lots of food, and the picturesque walk through Eisenhower Park in memory of the babies that are not here to walk on earth. I will be there with a table displaying my handcrafted jewelry and keepsakes. It is a great opportunity for you to view the pieces in person and discuss any questions you have. For any of my previous customers, please stop by to say hello and introduce yourself. It's always nice to put a face on the names of those I've created pieces for. Hope to see you there!
