Google Cofounder Sergey Brin Starts Blogging at TOO

Posted: 19 Sep 2008 11:11 AM CDT

Google Cofounder Sergey Brin has launched a personal blog on Google blogger called TOO located at too.blogspot.com. Would you be rushing out there to get some Google tips?

What kind of a blog name is TOO? Sergey explains in the first post that “While Google is a play on googol, too is a play on the much smaller number - two. It also means “in addition“, as this blog reflects my life outside of work.”

So did he post some Google tips? No. In fact the blog was truly personal as he talks about his mother suffering from Parkinson’s disease and how he is at higher risk to develop it too, and is getting prepared to support research into it.

I carry the G2019S mutation and when my mother checked her account, she saw she carries it too. The exact implications of this are not entirely clear. Early studies tend to have small samples with various selection biases. Nonetheless it is clear that I have a markedly higher chance of developing Parkinson’s in my lifetime than the average person. In fact, it is somewhere between 20% to 80% depending on the study and how you measure.

Since anyone could create a free blogspot blog and start posting as Sergey Brin, Matt Cutts has checked with Google staff and and they confirmed that it was indeed Sergey Brin's blog. Will you be following his new posts?
