It's been a great system, but the little mini-Cuisinart that we've been using isn't conducive to doing large batches of food. As he's getting bigger (11 months now) and growing teeth, he doesn't really need his food pureed as before, so last week I stumbled on a hack. Turns out that a pastry blender (aka dough cutter, pastry mixer, etc.) is perfect for coarsely chopping up large batches of any reasonably soft foods (carrots, squash, etc). He suggested this as a way to build your own custom coloring books. So smart! Now I can indulge my daughter's Obama obsession! (Ever since the election, she's been coloring over every one of his pictures in the newspaper.)
