Video Copy Protection and DVD Recording
Just as you can't copy commercially made VHS video tapes from one VCR to another VCR due to Macrovision anti-copy encoding, the same applies to making copies to DVD. Also, new DVD Recorder and DVD Recorder/VCR Combo owners are finding that many Cable/Satelite programs are also copy-protected, which also prevents recording to DVD. For more detailed information on video copy-protection and how it affects your ability to get the most from your DVD Recorder, check out my article: Video Copy Protection and DVD Recording.

ION Audio VCR 2 PC- Product Review
The VCR 2 PC from ION Audio allows transfer of home recorded VHS videos to your PC and copy them onto DVD, iPod, or compatible mobile phones. The VCR 2 PC is actually a VHS tape player that has a USB interface connection. To make the transfer and copying process easier, ION provides easy-to-use software. Another convenient feature is the auxiliary AV inputs for connection of a camcorder, thus using the VCR to PC as an analog-to-USB converter for your camcorder or other external video source. New Speakers From Atlantic Technology
If you are a loyal reader of my site, you may be familiar with my recent report and Onkyo TX-SR607 product profile on the introduction of Dolby Prologic IIz. This new audio processing technology adds a vertical element to the surround sound experience. In order to incorporate this new technology into home theater, Atlantic Technology has introduced newly designed surround speakers for Dolby Prologic IIz applications.

The 1400 SR-z surround sound speakers feature a compact dipole design that take up very little wall space as to not overly dominate existing room decor.
