Organizers say the swine flu outbreak is making people nervous about attending the upcoming May Day marches to push Obama and Congress for comprehensive reform.

I will be there, and I will not be wearing a mask. Gallup reports that between 1-4 percent of Americans are infected with a "typical" strain of the flu at any given time, and while the swine flu may have the potential to pose a serious hazard, it so far doesn't appear to be any deadlier than what was going around all winter. Those who died in Mexico reportedly received treatment late, and that probably contributed to their mortality. No fatalities outside of Mexico. I'll risk it to fight for what's right.

I hope to see you out there on May 1!
