2009 VATICAN COIN SETS
Just arrived are the annual coin sets manhattan thenfrom the Vatican, this year celebrating the 80th anniversary of the founding of Vatican City by the Lateran Treaty in 1929. Both the Brilliant Uncirculated, and Proof sets come with the eight standard issue coins with Pope Benedict on the reverse. The proof set has an issue limit of 15,000 sets - 1,000 less than in 2008 - and also features a silver medal dedicated to John the Apostle. The issue limit for the BU set is 85,000 copies. The coins do not circulate, so the only chance of acquiring them is from one of these sets.

PROOF SETS WITH €2 EMU 10
We can now offer the annual proof coin sets manhattan thenfrom the Netherlands and Spain, both featuring the eight standard issue coins in the euro range as well as the special issue €2 celebrating the 10th anniversary of the euro as the common currency. Both the set from Spain, and Holland come in exclusive jewel cases with Certificates of Authenticity from their respective mint. The set from Spain has an issue limit of only 5,000 sets, whereas the Dutch set has been made in a limited run of 7,500 copies. It is the first year the Dutch Mint has manufactured its commemorative circulating coin in proof quality.

2009 MANHATTAN ANNIVERSARY
Just arrived are the coins manhattan thencelebrating the 400th anniversary of contact between the Netherlands and Manhattan. The issue consists of a gold coin (currently sold out), €5 silver proof coin , and €5 silver-plated uncirculated coin issued to celebrate the anniversary - all with the same design of Manhattan then and now on either side of the coin.

2009 NORWEGIAN ISSUES
At last, the long-awaited hamsun silverannual souvenir coin set, classic coin set and silver proof coin for author Knut Hamsun have arrived and are available to order. This is so far the only scheduled commemorative coin from Norway for 2009, as there will not be any circulating commemorative 20-krone or 10-krone issued.

2009 EUROSTAR PROGRAM
2009 is the 6th year for the austria haydnEuropean program with a common theme and mintmark - the eurostar - and this year the theme is European Heritage. Currently, the only previous coin in the series that is still available in very limited numbers is Botticelli's "Birth of Venus".

The coins carry very true reproductions of the classic masterpieces, finished in full color through high-quality pad printing techniques, that are surrounded by genuine Swarovski crystals inset in the coins themself.

EURO ADOPTION SCHEDULE
The previously announced euro adoption dates for Lithuania (2010) and Estonia (2011) might be in jeopardy. Both countries – along with Latvia – are struggling with inflation well above the 4.2% EMU upper limit, and it has been indicated that 2013 might be a more fitting adoption schedule for all three of these countries. As neither Central Bank has changed its official information, we will still list the below dates even though they most likely will not be met:

» 2010: Lithuania, Andorra (by monetary agreement)
» 2011: Estonia
» 2012: Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland
» 2013: Czech Republic, Latvia
» 2014: Romania
