The Rockhouse

2624 N Lincoln Ave, at Wrightwood; Lincoln Park; 773.871.0205

When you're a rock star, you can do whatever you want.
Whatever you want. Apparently rock bars can do the same, as
evidenced by The Rockhouse.

Opening tonight in the old Deja Vu space, The Rockhouse is a
no cover, live music club that takes the same liberties the
rock star might with his dressing room, starting with an
all-female, tattooed-and-pierced staff, a flaming skull
smoke machine, rock memorabilia (old black-and-whites from
Metro shows, etc), and walls clad in flames & purple
diamonds drawn up by a local tat artist who'll also be
inking up patrons on Tuesday nights. Drinkwise, they're
doling out 12 tap beers, including their own Rockhouse
Stout, along w/ skull-bottle vodka created by Dan Aykroyd
(seriously), and a "Shot Wall of Fame" where patrons who
take down a quintet of machine-dispensed spirits earn
themselves eternal glory, plus an inglorious free cab ride
home. When bands aren't rocking they've got other forms of
entertainment, from the classic (Pac-Man, two pool tables),
to the modern (Xbox and Wii hooked up to 50-inch
flatscreens), to the fratastic, with beer pong up on the
stage, allowing everyone a clear view of your heartbreaking
drubbing via your stepdad.

Food-wise they're keeping it streamlined, with house-made
frozen pizzas and chocolate covered frozen bananas, which
you're free to do anything you want with. Anything you want.
