The Coors Light Cold Front
Strange sightings generally portend something ominous -- in
Julius Caesar, a lion is spotted errantly wandering the
streets of Rome, a sign that the order of things will soon
be violently disrupted and, worse, someone will write a play
about it that you will have to read. For portent of
something wondrous, head down to South Street Seaport this
Friday to catch the Coors Light Cold Front:

The Cold Front is an awesome announcement of seismic shifts
in the Coors-iverse: a 30ft-tall mountain floating down the
Hudson and East Rivers, then docking at Pier 17, where a
giant inflatable can will rise from its peak, filling
onlookers with awe and thirstiness. The Front's purpose is
to usher in a new era of refresh-nology, in which all Coors
Light and Banquet cans will be cold activated, with
mountains that turn blue when the optimal drinking
temperature is reached -- maximizing your enjoyment, and
allowing you to prove once and for all that that "roll the
can over ice" trick is legit/malarkey. Also at the Seaport:
music, Coors Light models hurling snow-machine snowballs at
each other, majestic ice sculptures, and a Weather.com
"Weather Wall" where you can film your own forecast -- if
you're wildly inaccurate, it doesn't matter, as long as
you're wearing an authoritative-enough sports jacket.
Friday's mountainous event runs from 4-7pm. For full-tilt,
cable news channel-style updates on the nationwide progress
of the Cold Front (complete with attractive weather lady),
