Games continue at 2009 US Youth Soccer ODP Boys Thanksgiving Interregional

FRISCO, Texas (Nov. 29, 2009) - US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (US Youth Soccer ODP) Boys Thanksgiving Interregional continues with the 1995 and 1996 age groups competing at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla.
U.S. NT Navy 4, 1996 Region II Red 2
In the first 10 minutes of play, the U.S. Under-14 National Team Navy was up by two with goals by Oscar Martinez (4:00) and Adonis Amaya in the 7th minute. Martinez scored off a cross from Elijah Martin six yards out and slotted the ball under the Region II keeper for the first goal. Martin also assisted Amaya's goal in the 7th minute. Region II's John Moderwell took a deflected ball off a National Team defender and struck a low shot past the keeper to put his team on the boards. In the 30th minute, Joab Santoyo struck a well driven free kick at the top of the 18 yard box past the wall and keeper to bring to score to 3-1 in favor of the National Team. The National Team's Ricardo Ruiz scored from a cross in the 41st minute. The final goal of the game was from Region II's Akpik Samuel off a collected ball. The National Team won, 4-2.
1995 Region IV 4, Region I 3
In another high scoring game, Miseal Osorio started the game early scoring for Region IV in the 4th minute off a free kick from 20 yards out. Region I countered in the 9th minute with a Peter Pearson goal from 8 yards out. Two minutes later, Region IV went up again after Jose Navarro took a ball, crossing it to the center of the box where Bryan Hernandez finished the volley. Region IV's Alejandro Espinoza scored after collecting a loose ball in the six yard box and finished it for his teams third goal. Region I's Pearson scored his second goal of the game in the 23rd minute. In the 29th minute, Region IV's Hernandez assisted a Michael Steele goal. Late in the game, Region I's Pearson played a ball down the middle of the field that Joel Teston collected and finished to bring the score to 4-3 in favor of Region IV.
1996 Region I Blue 2, Region IV Black 1
The 1996 Region I Blue beat Region IV Black by two, thanks to two goals by Akeem Ward. The first was scored in the 15th minute, Ward scored on a loose ball from 12 yards out from the goal. Region IV tied the match in the 52nd minute with a Axel Mendez goal. Two minutes later Ward scored the game winner from 10 yards out.
1995 Region II 1, Region III 1
The 1995 Region II and Region III tied their match today. Region III's Cameron Moseley was uncontested in the middle of the field and scored off a well placed shot in the 8th minute. Region II's Luke Stauffer played a cross into the goal area that Louis Bennett connected and headed to tie the match. The game ended tied, 1-1.
1996 Region III Green 2, U.S. NT Red 2
The U.S. National Team Red's Decalan McCabe crossed to Jorge Calix who headed it inside the 6 yard box in the 23rd minute. In the second half, Region III's Sareef El-Saadi weaved through the National Team defense and scored into an empty net to tie the match. National Team's James Ellis played a cross into the goal mouth that Calix finished for his second heading goal of the match. Two minutes later, Region III's Reginald Epps answered after finding a loose ball inside the penalty box to tie the match again, 2-2.
