Wine Club: Holiday Swinging with Sauvignons
Date: December 02, 2009 Time: 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM Location: 3622 S. Broadway, 63118 Jump, jive and swing to the live tunes of Miss Jubilee and the Humdingers and sample Sauvignons in an antique collector's residence decorated in Machine Age Art Deco, including a 22- foot long vintage soda fountain bar. The basement has recently been renovated into a 2000 square foot apartment and the top floor is currently under renovation for the owners' living quarters. This freestanding 1940s blond brick building, near the Lemp Brewery, formerly housed a pharmacy, Elks Lodge and Blues Bar. The Walk: Mid-Town Alley (Historic District) Date: December 3, 2009 Time: 6:30 PM 6:30 to 8pm Buffalo Brewing Company - 3100 Olive St. 63103 The name Buffalo Brewing Company pretty much sums up what this place is all about. They brew 5 of their own, unique beers - which happen to be quite good. They also specialize in cooking with buffalo meat. Buffalo chili, buffalo burgers and buffalo meatloaf are just a few things you'll find on the menu. The prices are also very reasonable, with a big burger, chips, a side of mac & cheese and a soda for less than $10.
8pm to 9:30pm The Fountain on Locust for Burlesque Show - 3037 Locust St. 63103
Every first Thursday of the month burlesque dancers perform at The Fountain on Locust. It's free. From 8 p.m.-9:30 p.m. enjoy fabulous ice cream martini specials and lovely 1920's themed burlesque show. 'The Fountain' is just the right name for this Midtown oasis, because the flavors just keep flowing. This place screams original... with salads like the Famous Birdseed, and sandwiches like the Basilico Chicken or the Dr. John-peanut butter and banana with honey on whole wheat.
9:30 to ??? Fubar - 3108 Locust 63103 Fubar is located in Midtown Alley in the Historic district. Most nightly entertainment at the Fubar may vary but usually the doors open at 7 p.m. Arrive early and hang out in the 21 and over Fubar Lounge. Fubar offers games such as Golden Tee 2008, Silver Strike 2009, a pool table and touch screen jukebox. |
