New Year's Entertaining Resolutions
I always love the fresh start presented by a New Year. And while New Year's day is a starting point, I try to reassess things on a regular basis. Take, for instance, my New Year's Resolutions for Entertaining. For me, these are ongoing resolutions, to help me entertain more frequently and easily. Of course, because I love new cookbooks so much, I'm having a hard time getting past resolution number one. But that shouldn't stop you from following this good advice. Happy New Year!

Plan an Engagement Party
The holidays are always a popular time for couples to become engaged. In fact, my parents became engaged one Christmas Eve many years ago! Once the big news has been broken to immediate family, it's time for the happy couple to tell the rest of the world about their exciting plans. If you're the parent, sibling, or just best friend of a newly engaged couple, you may want to help them celebrate by hosting an engagement party in their honor.

Chocolate Fondue
I always like to be a bit decadent around the New Year. That's why I usually make chocolate the star of either my New Year's Eve or New Year's Day dessert. But I don't have the energy for a dessert that requires too much work - not after all the baking, cooking, etc. I've had to do during December while preparing for Christmas. And so chocolate fondue is the obvious choice for my dessert around this time of year.
