LadyBug Corner Chair

The LadyBug Corner Chair is unique in the aspect that the seat back adjusts forward or backward along the seat base to allow the child to sit in either a long-leg or conventional sitting position. In addition, the seat back can be removed when child is ready to learn independent sitting.

To position the child comfortably and securely, the LadyBug Corner Chair is upholstered in soft, padded vinyl. The chair also includes an H-strap harness, hip belt, abductor, and removable tray. The frame is constructed of sturdy tubular steel sand includes locking swivel casters. The legs adjust in height independently, allowing the seat to be inclined for children who are not ready for upright sitting (accessory headrest available).

The LadyBug Corner Chair is the first real choice for a child's first corner chair.

LadyBug Corner Chair Features:
  • Offers a comfortable positioning system for children 0 to 3 years.
  • Moves to adjust the seat depth so that a child can be positioned in either long leg or conventional sitting.
  • For the child who needs to sit in a more reclined position, the LadyBug Corner Chair™ has four independently adjustable legs.
  • The cushioned seat and back are covered with a water proof, easy to clean vinyl fabric.
  • The corner chair back support is removable for children preparing for more independent sitting.
  • Constructed of 1" powder coated  tubular steel with locking casters.
  • An Accessory head support is available.

Adaptive Classroom Seating and Proper Positioning

Adaptive seating is provided for students and children that require positioning support. How children are positioned while sitting can impact the use of their upper extremities for self-feeding and other activities, as well as positively affect children at risk for spinal deformity. Proper positioning can have a very positive outcome on a child’s ability to learn.  This article will focus on three styles of classroom chairs: corner chairs, adaptive chairs and bolster chairs.

Corner chairs provide external support for children who have inadequate postural control of the head, neck and trunk. This postural control is essential for visual scanning and attending, breathing, speaking and eating. If the arms and shoulders are being used to assist postural control, the child will be unable to develop mobility of the arms and hands for exploration and manipulation. The corner-shaped back permits the child to free the arms and hands for play.
