The worst job I ever had was temping at a bank. My sole responsibility was to update an Access database with customer names, and then generate letters informing people that their old bank had merged with my bank, and that they would now owe one million dollars per month in banking fees. The bad karma alone was enough to make it a terrible job.
That's not a patch on this reader's story, however: "I worked for a bed and breakfast in Scotland. The chef/owner had a furious temper; one of the most frightening I'd ever seen. ... I finally quit when he threw a scalding hot fry pan at my head in the kitchen for mixing up an order."
