Today is 1st February which is 01022010 and its Happy Pallindrome Day again for the second time this year. It basically means the same number can be read back and forth in the same way.

Various countries have different date formats, due to which Palindrome day has visited us twice this year already for the same 01022010 as 2nd January was also written the same in a different format of MM-DD-YYYY. For 1st February it was written as DD-MM-YYYY.

Aziz Inan, a professor at the University of Portland says that last time Palindrome Day happened was in Oct. 2, 2001 or 10-02-2001 and before that was Aug. 31, 1380 or 08-31-1380, that is 620 years ago! The next palindrome dates is on November 2, 2011 or 11-02-2011.

Rocketboom has earlier caught another Palindrome day on 01-11-10 in DD-MM-YY format which means we can have 2 more Palindrome days on 11 January and 1st November in 2010 also.

Send Free SMS Text Messages

Go to your nearest computer and open up to your email service
Get the number and mobile service provider of whoever you want to text messages
Once you have that go to this list of carriers providing SMS transit and scroll down till you reach their mobile service provider.
Once you have reached it, write down the email address you have to email to
After you’ve done all of that, go back to your email and write up a new message
In the “To:” section write for example, number@txt.att.net, as 555555@txt.att.net with the area code
Put what ever is in the “Subject:” section and just write the message normally
Click “Send” once your done

Now you can go back to text messaging even without a phone and with no hassle.

Citibank India Credit Card Services Down for 4 Days

Citibank India is “migrating to a new technology platform” and has informed Citibank customers of nationwide affected credit card services disruption and advises them to plan their financial transactions in advance by 4th February.

So what Citibank credit card services are affected -

Credit Card Purchases: Purchases remain unaffected.
Citibank ATM Services – including cash withdrawals – not disrupted.
Citibank Reward Points Redemption – Reward redemption requests placed from 4th February 2010 to 8th February 2010 will be processed on 9th February 2010. Vodafone Citibank Cardmembers talk point redemption service will not be available from 3rd February 2010 till 8th February 2010.
New Credit Card Applications – There will be a delay of 10 days in processing new Card application forms received from 28th January 2010 till 9th February 2010.
EMI Products – Balance transfer requests and EMI feature requests like Loan on Phone, received post 4th February 2010 will be processed after 8th February 2010.
Credit Card Payments: Cheques deposited at Citibank drop boxes from 5th February 2010 will be credited on 9th February 2010. Cash deposits for Credit Cards at Citibank ATMs made post 5th February 2010 will be credited on 9th February 2010.
Citibank Access: CitiPhone works but some services will be interrupted from 4th February 2010 to 8th February 2010. Critical services including blocking lost cards will continue.
Citibank Bill Payments: One-time bill payments cannot be done from 4th February to 7th February 2010. Prepaid mobile recharges cannot be done from 4th February to 7th February 2010. However, Standing Instruction services on Bill Pay will remain unaffected and will be processed.

They advise Citibank customers to complete all critical transactions, bill payments and Card payments by 4th February 2010!
