FRISCO, Texas (Feb. 2, 2010) - US Youth Soccer today announced the Spring 2010 schedule for the highly successful Kohl's US Youth Soccer American Cup. The largest recreational soccer tournament in the nation will be held in over 30 locations in the spring, with an equal number of events project in the fall. All events will feature Kohl's American Cup elements (tents, banners, premium items) and in most locations, the Kohl's American Cup Soccer Experience Vehicle.
"Kohl's is pleased to support US Youth Soccer - a strong organization that has a positive impact on kids and families in the communities we serve," said Julie Gardner, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Kohl's Department Stores. "This is just one more way that Kohl's supports children's health and education initiatives nationwide."
The 2010 Kohl's American Cup Tour will kickoff in Boca Raton, Fla., March 13-14 and feature one of two Soccer Experience Vehicles. These vehicles come complete with three larger-than-life inflatable soccer games and numerous prizes and souvenirs for participants and their families.
In 2009, Soccer Experience Vehicles 1 and 2 covered over 23,000 miles. After the kickoff event in Florida, Vehicles 1 and 2 will make their first appearances in Coastal Bend, Texas and Las Vegas, respectively.
"We are excited to kickoff another season of the Kohl's US Youth Soccer American Cup to highlight the many benefits of our sport, specifically fun and fair play, and further the experience with even more events scheduled," said Jim Cosgrove, executive director of US Youth Soccer. "Earlier this year, Kohl's strengthened their commitment to providing this great program for our recreational players by extending our partnership through 2012."
It is the Kohl's American Cup philosophy that all players should receive equal opportunities and benefits within their level of play. All players have the right to participate in competitions where they can develop and exhibit their skills while enjoying themselves. Kohl's American Cup provides recreational players this unforgettable opportunity and places emphasis on participation, as opposed to competition.
