Coppell woodworker makes kitchenware and crosses

In America, the religious and secular can live side-by-side
-- for proof, just drive out to DFW and note how close the
mega-churches are to the even mega-er Pabloritas at Don
Pablo's. Get wood from a guy who's cool with both worlds:
CTS Wood Design.
Now armed with a spanking new website, Coppell-based CTS is
the hobby-turned-career of an ex-IT veep who never lost
belief in his high-school woodworking skills; now, he's
divided his offerings into three specific categories:
Furniture, Culinary, and, because you gotta have faith,
faith, faith, Religious. Everything's completely hand-made
in his state-of-the-art mill shop, and though custom orders
are a large part of his operation, he makes several slick
standard pieces, with Furniture including acoustically tuned
drum tables in mahogany/black lacquer and maple, a
glass-topped "Double U" side table in olive ash burl and
rosewood veneer, double-tiered black coffee/side tables w/
zebrawood inlays, and similarly zebra'd nesting tables, a
set of which were recently commissioned for George W. Bush's
Dallas office, a move the President's defenders swear was to
provide a place to rest giant books...of mazes! Sweet
kitchen action covers a range of exotic wood cutting
boards/trivets/tables (also available w/ collegiate logos),
wood-handled chef knives, pub/kitchen island extension
tables, and Lazy Susans with hardwood inlays from walnut &
mahogany to bubinga, ebony, wenge, and quilted maple, far
more luxurious than 2-plywood.
For those looking to get religion, there are votive holders,
postmodern advent wreaths, and stylized hand and wall
crosses, some of which are sold, and some simply gifted to
elderly churchgoers -- and of course, walking around town
giving away inventory for free is the first sign that
someone's been drinking Lotsaritas.
Try the "Lotsarita" at Don Pablos! Then check out the
gallery at CTSWoodDesign.com, or buy some pre-made wares at
its Etsy shop.
