Starting this Friday, The US Youth Soccer National Championship Series Weekly Update will provide you with an update on the teams that have won their US Youth Soccer State Championships, first leg of the Series, and have earned a slot in the US Youth Soccer Regional Championships. News and Notes From Region I- Barboursville, W.Va., will host the 2009 and 2010 Region I Championships at the Barboursville Soccer Complex, Huntington YMCA Kennedy Center and Scott Orthopedics Soccer Complex from July 2-7. Over 4,500 participants and 10,000 spectators are expected to bring in over $12.5 million in economic impact during the week. ...Albertson Fury (NY-E) clinched berths in the U-15 through U-18G state cup finals. Albertson 90 Fury girls are five-time state champions and all 20 players are playing in college with over $1.5 million in scholarships. Vicki DiMartion won the silver boot at the U-17 World Cup last fall and scored in every game. ...National team player Alex Doll leads the Bethesda SC Dragons (MD) to regionals. ...Hicksville Strikers U-16B (NY-E) make their second trip to regionals through the Region I Premier League. ...Charleston FC Elite (WV) have been state champions since 2005 and are the first full-sided West Virginia team to reach the Region I Championships semifinals. ...EPIC Blast (WV) claimed their state championship for the third year (2006, 2008 and 2009). ...Tab Ramos, coach of the 2008 U-14 US Youth Soccer National Champions and former U.S. National Team player, returns to regionals with a second U-14B team, the NJSA 04 United (NJ). ...Baltimore SC Bays U-15G (MD) secured their fourth trip to regionals as state champions in as many years. The team also boasts 14 US Youth Soccer ODP state players, five US Youth Soccer ODP regional players and one national team player. ...After playing at home during the past two regional championships, the U-18B Seacoast United Maine Hurricanes head south for their fourth regional championships in as many years.
From Region II... Sioux Falls, S.D. plays host to the best in Region II at Yankton Trails Park from June 19-24. The event was last hosted at Yankton in 2005. Over $9.9 million in economic impact is expected as are over 3,500 participants and 12,000 spectators. ...U-14s are set in Illinois with Eclipse Select 94/95 Girls (IL) and Chicago Wind Boys (IL) defeating Sockers FC and Midwest Wings respectively. ...2008 Reg Champ, Grand Rapids Crew (MI) faces Michigan Jaguars (MI) in U15B state finals this Saturday. ...176 teams started the journey in the US Youth Soccer Kentucky State Cup last Friday with most brackets down to semifinal play. ...FC Milwaukee Blue 17 (WI) claimed their second Wisconsin title (2007, 2009) now as Under-17s. FC Milwaukee (WI) claimed three titles in the fall with the Under-15, U-17 and U-18 Girls titles. ...Finalist in 2008 state cup and a second place finish in the US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional League, the U-14G Michigan Gators (MI) have claimed their state title.
From Region III... Frisco and Plano, Texas, play host to 184 elite teams from Region III at both Pizza Hut Park (Frisco) and Russell Creek Park (Plano) from June 18-24. Over $7.3 million in economic impact is expected as over 5,000 participants and 10,000 spectators descend upon in North Texas. ...Dallas Texans dominated state cup play taking three of four boys’ titles and two of the four girls’ championships in the U-14 through U-17 age groups. The U-18 and U-19 age groups conclude June 7. ...Solar SC (N-TX) was guaranteed a champion in the Under-15. Solar 94 defeated Solar 94 Red to advance. ...Fort Worth FC 94G (N-TX) , coached by TCU head coach Dan Abdalla, went undefeated in state cup over the Dallas Texans and Solar. ...BUSA Elite (AL) claimed seven of 10 state championship titles in the U-14 through U-18 age groups. ...BUSA 91G Elite , four-time state champs, are all committed to play D1 soccer and Lauren Arnold, keeper, is on the U-18 National Team. ...BUSA 93G Elite are five-time state champions and include 15 US Youth Soccer ODP players. ...HSC 93B Blue Strikers (AL) have been state champions since 2004. ...After winning regionals last year, SSCSA 93 Gold (NC) return as state champions. ...Greensboro Twisters Green 90B (NC) have won six of eight state championships since 2002. ...CASL Spartan Elite 92G (NC) boast four state championships since 2004.
From Region IV... June 15-21, more than 248 Region IV teams converge at the Lancaster National Soccer Center in Lancaster, Calif. 4,500 participants and 10,000 spectators are expected to have an estimated $15 million economic impact on the local economy. ...Cook Inlet SC Velocity (AK) secured six age groups in Alaska State Championships. ...Sereno Soccer Club (AZ) swept nine age groups, dominating the girls’ side with six teams advancing. ...Undefeated in the state championships, the U-17B Pros 92 White (AZ) advanced after PKs determined the finals game against TSA Red. ...U-14B SC del Sol 95 (AZ) picked-up a forth state championship (2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009). ...Santa Clara Sporting (CA-N) took U-15B state title with an impressive 6-0 victory in the finals. ...Three Cal South girls’ teams are out to defend their 2008 regional titles ( U-16 Slammers , U-17 Real So Cal Blues and U-18 Slammers ). ...Kyle Emge netted all four Arsenal Gold (CO) goals in the 4-1 win in the state championship. ...Five-time Hawaii State Champs, the U-15G Kaoi Express (HI) roster 12 US Youth Soccer ODP players. ...U-18G Leahi 91 Premier are making their eighth trip to regionals. ...U-19B Neusports FC 90 (NV) marks its seventh consecutive Nevada State Championship. ...U-14G LV Premier 95 Black rosters 11 US Youth Soccer ODP players and has won three state championships, including one in 2007 that carried them to the Region IV Championship title. ...New Mexico advances six Rio Vista FC (NM) teams, with an even split of boys and girls teams. ...Wyoming will be represented by U-12B Jackson Hole Premier , U-14B Cheyenne Sting and U-16G Gillette Edge. ...U-16G Emerald City FC F92 Green (WA) are five-time state champs andboast eight US Youth Soccer State ODP players. ...U15G Oregon Rush Nike (OR) won their second Oregon State Championship (2007, 2009). ...U-18B Westside Metros Internationals (OR) are five-time state champions, 2007 regional finalists and 2008 regional semifinalists.
