| | Baseball Bob Feller diagnosed with leukemia CLEVELAND (UPI) -- Bob Feller, whose pitching prowess with the Cleveland Indians led him to baseball's Hall of Fame, has been diagnosed with leukemia, the team says.
The 91-year-old Feller said Sunday he was feeling better and his prognosis was good. He was found to have acute myeloid leukemia in the past two weeks and spent two days at the Cleveland Clinic, followed by a week of outpatient care.
Feller produced a career record of 266-162 in 570 games in 18 seasons, all with Cleveland. He did not play from 1942-44 while he served in the Navy during World War II.
He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1962.

| | Boxing Louisville foundation honors Muhammad Ali LOUISVILLE, Ky. (UPI) -- Muhammad Ali was honored by an educational foundation in his hometown of Louisville this weekend.
The boxing legend's wife, Lonnie, accepted the Lincoln Foundation's Centennial Spirit of Excellence Award for her husband during its Evening of Jazz fundraiser Saturday night at Churchill Downs, the Louisville Courier-Journal reported.
She told the crowd of 475 that Ali, stricken with Parkinson's disease, was too tired to attend.
The foundation was celebrating a century of helping educate gifted but disadvantaged students. The award is given to people who exemplify its commitment to education, leadership and community service.
"I was born and raised in Louisville, just like Muhammad, and I am so impressed with this organization helping children achieve the greatness within," Lonnie Ali said.
Muhammad Ali, born in Louisville as Cassius Marcellus Clay, won an Olympic gold medal and the world heavyweight championship three times.
Lonnie Ali co-founded the Muhammad Ali Center, which honors her husband's legacy, and was named to the President's Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues.

| | Golf Wie cruises in second career LPGA win WINNIPEG, Manitoba (UPI) -- Michelle Wie pulled away from the pack Sunday, cruising to a three-shot victory at the Canadian Women's Open for her second career victory.
Wie, who shared the second-round lead with Jiyai Shin, pulled away with a 2-under-par 70 Sunday to finish three strokes clear of four players.
The 20-year-old Hawaiian star, who turned pro before her 16th birthday, earned her long-awaited first crown came last year at Lorena Ochoa's tournament in Mexico.
Wie secured her second win by making three consecutive birdies on the back nine, capped by a chip-in from off the green at No. 15.
Shin, the former world No. 1, ended with a 73 to share second place with Kristy McPherson (66), Jee Young Lee (69) and defending champion Suzann Pettersen (69) at nine-under 279.

| | Racing Hamilton claims Belgium GP, points lead SPA, Belgium (UPI) -- Lewis Hamilton overcame a slip off the track Sunday to claim the Belgian Grand Prix and the Formula One championship points lead.
The McLaren driver contended with rainy conditions and survived a slip off the track into the gravel after pulling ahead of pole-sitter Mark Webber on the opening lap.
Hamilton led wire-to-wire in the 44-lap event at the Spa-Francorchamps road course, notching his third win of the year and the 14th of his F1 career.
With the win he grabbed a three-point lead in the standings over Team Red Bull's Webber, who was victimized by a mechanical issue at the start of the race.
Robert Kubica of Renault finished third after a mishap during his final pit stop.
Ferrari's Felipe Massa came in fourth and from Adrian Sutil of Force India rounded out the top five.
