I'd like to pretend that there's still another month of summer before the reality of the fall season settles in. Sadly, I can't ignore the signs of back-to-school time in my home, nor the completion of the harvest in our garden. Before it's too late, we'll have to take this last opportunity to savor summer's flavors over the upcoming long holiday weekend, by hosting an End of Summer Labor Day Party.
Ah, eating outside, fighting off the ants, smelling the green grass, listening to the buzzing bees - it's all part of the summer vibe. Catch it while there's still time with this very quick and easy picnic menu.
It's not like you can't cook hamburgers and hot dogs throughout the year. But there's just something about a barbecue in the summertime that makes everything taste better.
Even before we had our own kids, my husband and I never had a hard time amusing the children of visiting friends. We had a toy closet that the kids learned to love. But now that my children and friends' children are older, it's a lot more challenging to figure out how to include them with the other guests, both older and younger. So I was hoping that a few of the readers of this site would have tips to share for how you include, amuse, or entertain teens at your all-ages parties.
