Mission Reds Gear
Slip into something a little more historical
Have a great Labor Day, and enjoy your epidural. See you
Tuesday.

Some sports teams live on forever, and some disappear so
quickly that no one even remembers they existed,
like...well...see? Celebrate the San Franciscan team time
forgot, with Mission Reds Gear.

From Seattle-based Ebbets Field Flannels, this line of
authentically reproduced throwback duds immortalizes one of
the two minor league baseball teams to actually play in SF
proper (their SOMA stadium has since been replaced by a
Safeway): The Mission Reds, who enjoyed a sporting 11-year
run (1926-1937) which, considering their quick demise, was
probably a run total they never even got near. Vintage
flannel jerseys for the Pacific Coast League's finest are
all exact reproductions made from authentic wool and
stitched with red lettering and trim, and include
classically sweet 1927 and '37 road unis (the latter's pin
striped), and a '30 home joint that's actually more a
short-sleeved button-up than jersey, all with short,
upturned "sun collars" to prevent burnage, as there're
already more than enough rednecks in baseball. Non-jersey
fan-berdashery includes a timeless grounds crew jacket with
"Mission" tagged on the back and a felt chest emblem 'M' on
the front left breast, and an old-school, "M" logo'd ballcap
from '37 made with navy wool broadcloth and a buckram crown
crafted from real goat hair, though not real goatee hair --
Kevin Youkilis is just one man.

All of the jerseys are made-to-order in the good ol' USA,
and come in sizes from small to the bizarre "XXXXXL", though
anyone unhealthy enough to fit into one's definitely not
going to live on forever.
