The Hollywood Reporter said the movies are expected to be shot back-to-back and released in late 2014 and 2015.
The first installment in the visually stunning, science-fiction franchise grossed $2.8 billion worldwide after it was released in December.

The son of screenwriter Charles MacArthur and actress Helen Hayes was best known for playing Danno on the original "Hawaii Five-0" series for 11 years. His big-screen credits include "Swiss Family Robinson," "The Battle of the Bulge," "The Truth About Spring," "Cry of Battle," "Spencer's Mountain" and "The Interns."

The remaining first-run episodes are being removed from the programming schedule as of next Tuesday.
The final five episodes of the season will be re-scheduled to air in early 2011 and will conclude the run of the series, the network said.

Blount's acting credits include "An Officer and a Gentleman," "Great Balls of Fire" and "Chrystal." She also co-produced the live-action short film "The Accountant," which won an Oscar in 2001.
Blount's body was discovered Wednesday by her mother.
