Sports Update For Indiana Saturday October 2, 2010 | Baseball MLB: Cincinnati 7, Milwaukee 4 CINCINNATI (UPI) -- Yonder Alonso's RBI double ignited a seventh-inning rally Saturday that sent the Cincinnati Reds to a 7-4 victory over Milwaukee. Casey McGehee's three-run homer in the top of the frame had drawn Milwaukee even at 4-4, but the National League Central champion Reds came right back for three more in the next half-inning to put the game away. Todd Coffey (2-4) yielded a one-out single to Miguel Cairo and Alonso followed by driving a pitch off the left-center field fence to put the Reds ahead for good. Corky Miller followed with a two-run homer to complete the rally, which allowed Cincinnati to even their three-game, season-ending series with the Brewers at one win apiece. Lyle Ondrusek (5-0) collected the victory after recording the final two outs in the top of the seventh. (UPI) -- Bill Haas posted his first-ever 54-hole lead Saturday, firing a 3-under 69 for a four-shot advantage at the Viking Classic. Haas collected eight birdies to offset three bogeys and a double-bogey at the Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Miss., finishing three rounds at 15-under 201. That was good enough for a sizable lead over playing partner Brendon de Jonge (73), Michael Allen (70) and Nathan Green (70), who were knotted in second place at minus-11. Jason Bohn (67) held sole possession of fifth place one stroke further back at minus-10. Haas has one career PGA win under his belt, which he collected this year at the Bob Hope Classic, and has never held the lead after three rounds. Green tied Haas after birdying the 14th, but Haas responded with his own birdie on the same hole to move ahead for good. Fanning claimed his second consecutive Pro France championship with 16.90 points out of a possible 20 in the final heat to Slater's 6.74. The finals were held in strong 6-to-8 foot surf at Les Culs Nus Beach that produced a number of high-scoring rides. "There was just a lot of water moving and it was super challenging," said Fanning. "You were either in the spot or you weren't, and I was fortunate enough to be there for a couple." Slater conceded the changing wave conditions in the finals threw off the rhythm he had in earlier rounds, which included a perfect 10 wave in the semifinals. The win moved Fanning, a 29-year-old Australian, into third place in the standings with three events remaining in the Association of Surfing Professionals season. Slater currently leads followed by Jordy Smith of South Africa. The 40-year-old Krumm, meanwhile, had little trouble with Spain's Anabel Medina Garrigues, 6-0, 6-4 on the hardcourts at the National Tennis Center. Other first-round winners Saturday included Switzerland's Patty Schnyder, who dispatched Kazakhstan's Yaroslava Shvedova, 6-1, 6-4; Ukraine's Alona Bondarenko, who downed Chinese wild card Yi-Miao Zhou, 6-2, 6-0; and Germany's Andrea Petkovic, who breezed past Czech Lucie Safarova, 6-2, 6-3.
