This gear's the best thing to come out of Longview since Josh Scobee
With utmost stealth, Longview has produced an impressive roster of notables: beyond Robert Newhouse and Bobby Taylor, there's Forest Whitaker (who you might know from Fast Times at Ridgemont High) and even Karen Silkwood (who you might not know from Silkwood). Hoping to join their ranks through cartoonish clothing, Loyal K.N.G.
Standing for "Knowledge Never Goes" (at least 'till senility), Loyal's an East Texas streetwear crew led by a guy who studied biology in college, but now creates merrily demented tees and sweatshirts featuring iconic cartoon and video game characters, plus various other pop-culture creatures. The latest choice designs:
Gravestein Bear:
This terrifying Berenstein riff "is my way of taking the classic horror-story of giving a vicious bear intelligence to ravage the countryside with full-mental-prowess" -- don't give him Tank Johnson's guns, or he'll be unstoppable.
Lion KNGS:
Who hasn't thought about merging The Lion King and the Toronto Raptors' mascot? Then Elton John could do the team introduction music!
Jason Poleta:
Jason Voorhees' hockey mask strapped to a melting Mexican popsicle, just one of the many summertime treats he missed on the bottom of that pond.
Holdovers from previous drops include "Ghostly DOOM!" (Caspar wearing the Fantastic Four villain's mask) and "Jack the Warrior": the Oakland Raiders mascot with the brain fully exposed and the crossbones replaced with a baseball bat & golf club -- though even armed with those weapons, for that franchise, hope does not float.
