Robots have long fascinated man, thanks to their limitless potential, their offering of a glimpse into future, and their ability to seamlessly integrate into car-radio-stealing street gangs with catchy theme songs. Using a fascination with them to get you sweet gear, Red Rocket Farm.
Straight from The Dec, RRF hawks prints, clothing, mewelry and even... rocks?... featuring robots and other characters featured in late-night painter/ illustrator Jason Thomas's animated web-toon series "Things Fall Apart", which coincidentally is the name of both a Roots album, and Val Kilmer's personal training company. The goods kick off with super-soft tees like the light-gray breakfast-eating "mechanical couch potato" Biscuitbox, signed 8" x 10" card stock prints of a 'bot called Potbelly in multiple color options, plus a collection of different hand-painted robots on actual river rocks, which JT says he creates "while watching late night crime shows", although who doesn't do that when they're stoned. Artist/buddy Ted Murphy contributes ghoul-featuring original paintings like bright green, wood-panel-painted zombies and a writers'-block-suffering werewolf on canvasboard, plus wooden ghost fridge magnets, corkboards, and a framed puzzle featuring 22 yellow ghosts painted over pieces that're "sealed in place, possibly with ectoplasm", which is bound to make you the Zuul-est kid on the block.
Even more robo-ness is available as a set of six variously colored buttons, plus hand-painted dominoes turned into keychains, about which they say "no two are quite alike", which is also true of all robots, except those boring other four Johnnys who just politely followed orders to blow up tanks, and never once disco-danced with Ally Sheedy.
