(December 28, 2010) – Day two of preliminary games concluded at the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (US Youth Soccer ODP) Super Group at Disney's Soccer Showcase in Orlando, Fla. 1995 Region IV avenged their opening day defeat as they beat Region II 2-1. A 4th minute goal from Alejandro Espinoza after a nice combination play with Spencer Kleweno put Region IV ahead early. Eduardo Gamboa leveled for Region II 20 minutes later after a scramble in front of the net, but Region IV took over for good in the 62nd when Dominic Chavez finished off a nice move from Robby Sagel. Region III once again jumped out to a two goal lead, but couldn’t hold on today as 1995 Region I drew even at 2-2. Luis Betancur-Castro volleyed home a 30th minute corner kick as Region III took the lead. In the 42nd, Jonathan Jarrett sliced his way through the Region I defense to make it 2-0 at the break. Region I would take four minutes of the second half to level the score as Andrew Tinari scored off a set piece in the 47th and Taylor Dempsey netted in the 49th. Region I and Region III played to a 0-0 draw in the 1994 group. In what was a very even match, the turning point could have come toward the end of the first half as Region I goalkeeper Jason Scolaro made a great save to tip a shot to the outside of the box where Region I led a counter attack in which Region III keeper William Flowers made a one-on-one save as neither team would be able to grab the winner. The 1994 group is shaping up to be a stingy crew as only two goals have been scored in the first four games. Today, it was Region IV that nabbed a 17th minute winner to hand Region II their second 1-0 defeat.
