Norse Projects
Cold-weather kit straight from Denmark
Available at Concepts: 37 Brattle St, btwn Church and Brattle Sq; Harvard Square; 617.868.2001
There are three things everyone knows about Vikings: they were fierce warriors, they were among the first to actually land in America, and they don't give up easily, unless forced to start Joe Webb for the rest of the season. Now adding stylish to the list, Norse Projects.
Originating in Viking-spawning Denmark as a brick-and-mortar boutique before eventually growing into a clothing line, NP's latest round of cold weather classics includes casual outerwear, shirts, and denim/pants that evoke a clean workwear vibe and come fully equipped with the tag line, "Good for all seasons" -- so clearly, they're not referencing One Tree Hill. Because there is a foot of snow outside, stay warm with select outerwear like the Dress Blue Tromsoe down puffer jacket w/ RiRi zippers and Kiwi wool lining; a green quilted nylon shirt jacket rocking corduroy detailing on cuffs/collar/pockets called the Sune; and a burly navy wool sailor peacoat w/ open front pockets and royal blue accents, also what the dude from Old School spoke with during his youthful days as a landed viscount. Other choice highlights include the military styled Agni knit lambswool crewneck sweater w/ speckled ribbed shoulders, the Villads Big Check loose fitting shirt made of a Japanese double face fabric; and a pair of broad Italian cords that're "Cathay spice-colored", but luckily not Cathy spice-colored, because then you'd just be like "ACK!".
To tie it all together, NP peddles a broad array of heat-trapping accessories like a grey wool hunting cap w/ "toasty" ear flaps; the striped/tassled Olafsvik scarf in Tawney Port; and even a pair of Merino wool fingerless gloves that're texting-friendly -- a must for any modern Viking who finds himself lonely and Favre away from home.
Ensure you're prepared for the next blizzard with some warmer gear from Norse Projects.com
