Those in the mining business are rewarded for going deeper, because that's where the minerals are, and because then everyone reading their "Miners Do It Deeper" t-shirts will know they speak the truth. Digging deep for t-shirt greatness, RoyalKane.
From a San Antonio design team's TV-seared brains, this collection of retro-style tees, polos and raglans drills down beyond pop culture's Casual Appreciator Layer and into the Very Core of Nerd-dom. Graphic-driven numbers start reasonably approachable (A Christmas Story's fra-jee-lay leg lamp, Arrested Development's "never nude" shorts, a yellow polo banded by Charlie Brown's black zig zag), then enter obscurity with the likes of the Andy Samberg & Julian Casablancas-inspired "A Boombox is Not a Toy" and "Lion vs. Tuna" (warning: these guys love them some The Other Guys). The best of the text-driven offerings features Cousin Eddie's explanation of why he can't warm leftovers: "They had to replace my metal plate with a plastic one. Every time they'd rev up the microwave, I'd piss my pants and forget who I was for about half an hour" -- though of course the real reason Randy Quaid can't use a microwave is because he's in jail. Or Canada.
Kane also delves into home accessories, like an "I'm on a Boat" apron and the John Candy & Steve Martin-graced "Those Aren't Pillows" pillowcase -- recalling the now 24-year-old scene where somebody went deep, and somebody else didn't like it.
