What's Going On in the Silicon Valley Hacker Community

When: February 28 - March 04.
Where: Moscone Center, San Fransico CA

From humble beginnings in a developer’s living room in 1988, the Game Developers Conference has grown to the largest professionals only gathering of videogame industry professionals. True to its original vision, GDC continues to be the nexus point of learning, networking and inspiration for developers looking to imagine and deliver the next breakthrough.

When: February 28, 2011 | 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Where:  Pillsbury Winthrop, 2475 Hanover Street, Palo Alto, CA 94304, CA

In this interactive session, Layar's Augmented Reality Strategist Gene Becker will cover the concepts and tools used to build for the platform, including the Layar API for developers as well as point & click tools that allow artists, academics and other enthusiasts to create AR experiences with no coding required. You'll walk away with the ability to start augmenting your own reality, and with insight into what the future may hold for this emerging medium.

When:Tuesday, March 1 2011 | 7:00pm to 9:00pm
Where: Hacker Dojo, 140A South Whisman Rd, Mountain View, CA 94041

As promised, we are proud to be brining you the exciting 'Zurb Team' to Hacker Dojo, this coming Tuesday!

These guys love what they do and their UX knowledge will keep you mesmerized throughout the whole two hours.

Android DevCamp (2.5 days)
When: Friday, March 4, 2011 | 3:30 PM
Where: Register here

SVAndroid is now the nation's largest mobile development community (face to face)! A great thanks goes out to all the volunteers, speakers, sponsors and members who helped make this happen!

Instead of back-to-back presentations followed by several variations of "Hello World," Android DevCamp is all about designing, developing and demo-ing a full-featured Android application using Android technologies.

Cost: $40. Includes food during the entire event.

When: Saturday, March 5, 2011 | 9:30 AM
Where: SETI Institute, 89 N. Bernardo Avenue, Suite 100, Mountain View, CA 94043

There is a free event this Wednesday evening at SETI Institute in Mountain View relating to areas in which art and science are combining. One of the main headliners is speaking about HTML5.
