'Speech' wins big at Oscars

LOS ANGELES (UPI) -- "The King's Speech" won the Oscars for Best Picture, Actor, Director and Original Screenplay at the Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles Sunday night.

"Speech" beat out "Black Swan," "The Fighter," "Inception," "The Kids Are All Right," "127 Hours," "The Social Network," "Toy Story 3," "True Grit" and "Winter's Bone" for the Best Picture honor. "Speech" led this year's Oscar field with 12 nominations.

Sheen tells his side in ABC interview

LOS ANGELES (UPI) -- U.S. actor Charlie Sheen, whose career is teetering after drug-, alcohol- and sex-fueled escapades, tells ABC he's on a drug "called Charlie Sheen."

"I am on a drug, it's called Charlie Sheen," The Hollywood Reporter said the actor tells ABC in an interview recorded at his Los Angeles home this weekend.

"I have one speed, one gear, Go!...I dare you to keep up with me."

'Gnomeo' charms its way to No. 1

LOS ANGELES (UPI) -- The animated "Gnomeo and Juliet," with the voice of Patrick Stewart among others, led the U.S. box office during the weekend with more than $14.21 million.

"Hall Pass," with Owen Wilson, was a close second with $13.42 million.

All studio estimates of gross U.S. receipts are via Box Office Mojo, which said it would cover the Oscars through Twitter beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern and 5 p.m. Pacific Time Sunday.

Olbermann starts Web site, targets Fox

NEW YORK (UPI) -- Keith Olbermann has started a Web site directly aimed at his ideological enemies at Fox News.

The former MSNBC host launched the FOK News Channel Friday, The Washington Post reported. It stands for "Friends of Keith" but is also an off-color play on the News Corp. cable channel.

A few days earlier, Olbermann announced on Twitter, "proud to announce: Coming very very soon -- your FokNewsChannel Web site."
