U.S. stock indexes head lower NEW YORK (UPI) -- U.S. stock indexes turned lower in New York Monday afternoon, as higher crude oil prices rattled investor confidence. April delivery crude oil prices topped $106 per barrel, as supply concerns related to the conflict in Libya have dominated the commodities market. (UPI) -- Western Digital said Monday it has agreed to buy Hitachi Ltd.'s data storage products subsidiary for $4.3 billion. The deal for Hitachi Global Storage Technologies is a cash-and-stock transaction, Western Digital said in a news release on its Web site. Under the definitive agreement, Hitachi will receive $3.5 billion in cash and 25 million common shares of Western Digital valued at $750 million, based on a closing stock price of $30.01 as of last Friday. ...
