The Playbook
Zip In: Frasca's New Caffe
1720 Pearl St; Boulder; 303.442.9364
The Frasca empire's expanding once again, this time opening a tiny, 10-seat, "grab and go style" eatery serving up authentic treats like 11 types of biscotti (almond meringue, shortbread), and a "Nutella Shake" gelato, plus savoriness like the roast beef/ onion/ horseradish "Manzo" panini, and the pancetta/ insalata/ pomodoro "P.I.P.", which was originally going to also have mozzarella in the middle, before realizing they'd have to tack on another 50 Cent.
For such a small restaurant, they sure do have a huge menu -- check it out, here

Wear: Moda
1459 Larimer St; LoDo; 303.862.5949
This upscale menswear store's just opened its second Denver location in a small Larimer Square nook whose shelves are stocked with Alberto jeans, Bugaci button-downs, Jack Victor sport coats, DQ hoodies, and leather jackets from Bod Christensen, also the new fragrance for men who want their acting to reek.
Check the full list of brands they carry and then stop in for some new gear, at modaman.com

He's Everywhere: Jack Was Here
Created after an alarmed Denver local heard that the film adaptation of On the Road was being shot in Quebec, this blog documents the efforts of "an elite team of street thugs" to celebrate Kerouac's Mile High ties via photos of his likeness and "JACK WAS HERE" on various city landmarks, including Zona's Tamales (where he bought the red chili that he mentions in his most famous book), his letter-writing nook at Lakewood's Hart's Corner Bar, and Berkeley Lake, where he and his trippy poetry friends definitely got wet.
Jack's been many, many places, and you can check them all out here, at jack-was-here.tumblr.com

Next Stop: Colorado River Transit Map
Combining Colorado's abundance of cool waterways with its debilitating lack of subways, this poster-sized schematic (drawn up by a Wisconsin-based cartographer) renders the mighty river "in the style of urban transit maps", showing it "stopping" at Grand Junction, Palisade, and Silt, a town so tiny and unknown it'd likely soil itself at being mentioned.
Next stop: a cooler wall -- grab a print here, at zazzle.com

Gadgets: Quirky @ JackThreads
Our Edgar Allan Bros at JT have landed a batch of the crowd-sourced design collective's idiosyncratic wares, including a modular pocket knife you can equip with up to 13 of the included 18 tools, sadly leaving the remaining five to reform Menudo on their own.
There's more than just gear at JackThreads.com
