Here is this week's hypnosis tip from my co-trainer,
Jeff Stephens.
I get a lot of people who ask me how to do the 'big'
phenomena. Y'know... hallucinations, complete
personality changes (making them think that they are
Lady GaGa or Justin Bieber), etc.
First of all... I can't imagine anyone wanting to be
either of those. But then I'm old. What do I know?
But I have created hallucinations for people for years.
This includes dragons, ogres, wizards, dinosaurs,
zombies, etc.
I had a young lady who believed that she was an
alien (with no super powers) just trying to find a
way home. That one lasted for a while.
(Can you tell that I have a lot of RPGers for friends?
Anyway... the point is that many see these as the
'big' things and simple hand-sticks or catalepsy as
the 'little' things.
Well get that nonsense out of your mind right now.
Its all the same thing. It is all just a subject following
the instructions of the hypnotist.
None of these things is any harder than any other.
The difference is in the level of focus.
When you see a stage show, the hypnotist builds one
thing on another, until he has 'complete' control of
the subjects on stage.
What is actually happening is, the hypnotist is taking
control of the 'internal environment' of the subjects.
With each 'instruction' that they follow, they rely just
a little bit more on him to tell them what is next.

So...
It isn't that one is big and the other little. Or that
one is hard and the other difficult. It is a matter of
bringing the subject to the place where they
totally accept your instructions as their complete
reality, regardless of how large or small the thing
is.
Whether it is going deeper when you tell them
to, or seeing an elf on their lap, or even waking
up at the end, it is ALL THE SAME THING!
It isn't a magical formula. It is just a matter of
keeping the flow going until they are relying on
you to tell them what they see or hear, how they
feel, etc.
And it doesn't matter what you use to get there.
Stick 'em to a table. Stick their hand together.
Whatever... just get them imagining that what
you say is real.
Once they start that... you can make ANYTHING
happen for them.
