Is your water on fire?

Protect Your Drinking Water from Risky Gas Drilling
Take Action to Ban Fracking!

Dear Indiana,

Watch Our Short Animation About Fracking and Take Action

Take Action to Ban Fracking!

What would you do if the water coming out of your tap could be set on fire? Unfortunately, people who live in areas where natural gas companies are "fracking" are dealing with this, among many other serious problems like explosions, quarantined livestock and radioactive wastewater.

Help make sure this doesn't happen in your community. Sign our petition calling for a national ban on fracking.

Hydraulic fracturing, or "fracking," injects millions of gallons of fracking fluids — a mixture of nearly 600 chemicals, water and sand — into a well to create pressure that cracks open rocks underground, releasing natural gas.

We've seen scores of documented cases of drinking water contamination near natural gas drilling sites, likely from the toxic mixture they inject into the ground for hydraulic fracturing. Due to a legislative loophole, we can't hold these gas companies accountable under the Safe Drinking Water Act, and they don't have to disclose the 596 chemicals that may be contaminating our water.

New Jersey and New York are considering or have already passed bans and moratoriums to stop hydraulic fracturing in their state, but we need a federal ban to make sure this destructive practice doesn't spread to your state.
Can you sign our petition calling for a national ban on fracking?

The practice of fracking is not worth the risk of destroying our drinking water, our waterways or the health of our communities. Please join us in calling for a ban on gas drilling.
