The world's most epic foosball table
People have a hard time believing that the insanely wealthy can enjoy the simple things, but that's ridiculous, because everything's simple when a poorer person's being paid to do it for you. For a bar game designed to thrill those who would pay you to play it for them, check out 11 | The Beautiful Game.
Built by a Dutch design firm that's worked with Samsung and Nokia, 11's an absurdly luxe foosball table that wowed crowds as a prototype back in '08 with its high-tech components and aesthetic qualities evoking the "beauty and grandeur of today's modern stadiums", thanks largely to costing just as much. Set on eight rods and individually machined from a single piece of brass boasting a polished silver chrome finish all the way to the handles, the 22 fielders hover over a blindingly white glossy pitch resting inside of a seamless, jet black, ovoid shell, whose slightly banked walls are intended to reduce unnecessary detail and let the "raw energy of the game come to the fore" (yes, we're still talking about foosball). The ball return slot glows white until the orange orb's retrieved from it, and flush circular lights across midfield automatically keep score, with winning shots eliciting a bright flash from inside the goal, also a common Tourette-related problem early in Tim Howard's career.
Each set takes at least three months of precision work to complete, a long time to make others toil for you, though when you finally pay for it, the poor one will be you.
