Blumenstein Ultra Fi
Awesomely handcrafted speakers
There's something to be said for minimalism.

Now grab some minimalist-yet-awesome speakers, from Blumenstein Ultra Fi.

Blu's a series of handcrafted speaker systems designed and built by an amateur audiophile/professional engineer to achieve "the greatest performance from the fewest parts", with enclosures crafted from naturally finished woods and composites built around high-performance audio drivers, so...Joe Neme-sound-chek? On the pre-made side, there's the floor-standing Naga, housing a speaker in a thin deep cabinet whose internals form a long, winding chamber that makes for excellent bass response, or a bookshelf-appropriate set, encasing Fostex speakers in a shell of glued waterproofed birch plywood, called the Orca, though watch for imitations, as folks'll try to sham u. If you'd like something made-to-order, there's the boxy Josephine (constructed out of Baltic-sourced plywoods to surround a 12" speaker) that can be tweaked to your tastes and room acoustics, and the gorgeously intricate Oniyanma, built from bamboo to house Feasterex Oniyanma drivers, and available with fascias ranging from nature-evoking concentric circles to another resembling a Cubist square, also what Picasso's kids called him.

Blu's also doing custom home theater setups, plus PA rigs for venues in need of extremely powerful speakers -- so if you're looking to keep things minimal, try Calvin Coolidge.
