 | CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (UPI) -- The Rev. Peter Gomes, pastor for 40 years of the Memorial Church of Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass., has died. He was 68.
Gomes had been hospitalized since a stroke in December, the Boston Globe reported. His death Monday night was confirmed by Massachusetts General Hospital.
For most of his career at Harvard, Gomes was also Plummer professor of Christian morals at Harvard Divinity School.
