(UPI) -- Kevin Anderson's 22 points helped Richmond upend 25th-ranked Temple 58-54 in Saturday's semifinal game of the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament. The victory gave the Spiders (26-7), who also got 18 points and nine rebounds from Justin Harper, back-to-back title-game berths and another shot at their first A-10 Conference crown. Richmond now goes on to face Dayton in Sunday's final. The Owls (25-7) came up a bit short in their bid for a fourth straight conference championship. Khalif Wyatt led Temple with 15 points and Lavoy Allen contributed 12 with 10 boards. The post-midnight announcement by the league came shortly after the player's union moved to decertify itself and take the standoff into court in the form of a federal antitrust lawsuit filed Friday. The lockout means teams may not sign player contracts or make trades. Contact between players and their coaches also is banned. The lockout is the first work stoppage in the NFL since 1987, and was the result of fruitless negotiations over the future division of television revenues. "I've been here for the better part of two weeks now, and essentially during that two-week period the union's position on the core economic issues has not changed one iota," said New York Giants President John Mara. The New York Times said Saturday the two sides had narrowed the gap on their monetary demands, but remained millions of dollars apart. The league said in a statement Friday that the union's decertification strategy would only delay a settlement and that the player's had "left a very good deal on the table." Matteson's round -- the day's best at Trump International Golf Club -- put him at 16-under 200, three better than Haas, whose 4-under 68 earned him a minus-13 for the tournament. Matteson is looking for his third career PGA victory. His previous two wins came after he similarly held a 54-hole advantage. His most recent win was at the 2009 Frys.com Open. Alone in the third spot was Michael Bradley (68) at 12-under. Brandt Jobe (67), Angel Cabrera (69), George McNeill (71) and Chris Tidland (72) were tied for fourth at minus-10. Price improved to 33-22-6 on the season and withstood three Pittsburgh power plays in the Canadiens' sixth in seven games. Montreal's Michael Cammalleri contributed a goal and an assist while Tomas Plekanec and Travis Moen also scored. The Canadiens chased Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury in the second period after roughing him up for three goals on 12 shots. Brent Johnson relieved, stopping all eight shots he faced as Pittsburgh dropped its seventh game in 10 contests. (UPI) -- A bill making the Fighting Sioux, the University of North Dakota sports team name, a matter of state law has received final legislative approval. Gov. Jack Dalrymple supports the measure, which orders the university to keep the name and Indian-head symbol, the Grand Forks Herald reported. "The ball is now in the court of the NCAA, and that's what the people want: Take action or not take action," Dalrymple told the newspaper after the state Senate voted Friday. The Senate approved the bill 28-15. The House had already passed it 65-28. Dalrymple said thousands of e-mails sent to legislators show the people of North Dakota want the Fighting Sioux name. Eric Christianson, a spokesman for the NCAA, said the organization still opposes the use of Indian names and symbols. The NCAA in 2007 gave North Dakota three years to get permission from two Sioux tribes, Standing Rock and Spirit Lake, to use the name. The Spirit Lake tribe voted to allow the Fighting Sioux name but Standing Rock has not. NCAA officials say the university could be barred from post-season play.
