Sports Update For Indiana Thursday March 17, 2011 | | Basketball COL BKB: Morehead State 62, Louisville 61 DENVER (UPI) -- Delmont Harper drilled a 3-point shot with seven seconds left Thursday, boosting Morehead State to a 62-61 NCAA tournament upset of No. 4-seeded Louisville. The 13th-seeded Eagles led much of the afternoon but a late Louisville spurt gave the Cardinals a 61-57 edge with 1:20 to go. Harper missed a 3-point try on the other end but the Eagles' Sam Goodman rebounded and Louisville fouled. Morehead's Kenneth Faried made two free throws that made it a 1-point game. Harper was called foul but Louisville missed the free throw with 31 seconds to go. After a time out, Morehead worked the ball with Harper, who had missed his first five 3-point shots, finally pulling up beyond the top of the circle and hitting a 3-pointer. Louisville had a final try but Faried blocked the shot. Morehead State (25-9) draws No. 12 Richmond in Saturday's third-round action in the Southwest Region. Richmond advanced with a 69-66 upset of No. 5 Vanderbilt. Louisville was sent home with a 25-10 record. Terrance Hill had 23 points in leading the Eagles' attack. Harper ended with eight. Chris Smith topped Louisville with 17 points. (UPI) -- A witness described monstrous surf breaking at California's Mavericks at the time professional surfer Sion Milosky was killed late Wednesday. Milosky, 35, Kalaheo, Hawaii, was pounded by two huge waves at the legendary surf break and his body was recovered a short time later. "Huge, 50-foot, absolutely massive waves were coming through constantly," surfer Shawn Dollar told the Santa Cruz Sentinel. "It was hard to keep track of people." The Sentinel said Thursday Milosky fell when the large wave he was riding collapsed. Another large wave then broke on top of him, apparently holding him under water and drowning him. Some surfers said afterward the growing popularity of Mavericks called for the stationing of lifeguards at the scene, the Sentinel said. Mavericks was the site of Hawaiian surfer Mark Foo's death in 1994 and several close calls since then. Milosky was considered one of the leading big-wave surfers in Hawaii and was in California for The Jay at Mavericks surf competition.
