Good morning & happy springtime to all!
In the midst of last Friday’s April Fools craziness, ArcticStartup kept a serious face and publicised two interesting bits of money news. Vigo Accelerators, a government-backed program run by entrepreneurs-turned-investors, plan to trial mini-funds answering for the gap between seed and VC funding stages with minority public investments.
Meanwhile, across the pond in Estonia, a 20K-for-100k Challenge is unveiled. The competition has a 20,00 dollar cash prize for an open data application that manages to gather 100,000 active users in the Baltics. A very interesting concept I think and I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts on it as well.

Global Design Village launches a Global Competition open to Students, Professionals and the General Public to find solutions to reduce the impact of natural and human caused disasters, supported by United Nations.
Future Female Meetup

Where: Aschan Cafe Jugend (Pohjoisesplanadi 19, Helsinki)
Future Female Meetup, a gathering for tech-y women is coming up, with a special guest Lenita Airisto. Attendence is free, but requires a signup!
Android Aalto Pub Meetup
Where: Nolla (Pojoinenrautatiekatu, Helsinki)
When: Thursday, April 7th, 18:00-20:00
A chance to get together, grab a drink and gossip wit other Android practitioners and enthusiasts. Also a good possibility to showcase your application and acquire those early adopters!
