MLB: LA Dodgers 4, San Francisco 3

LOS ANGELES (UPI) -- Rafael Furcal singled home Aaron Miles to finish off a wild, three-run sixth inning Friday that rallied the Los Angeles Dodgers past San Francisco 4-3.

The Dodgers became the first team in the majors to win two games and did so thanks in part to a pair of San Francisco errors.

Los Angeles trailed 3-1 heading into the sixth, which Matt Kemp opened with a single off losing pitcher Jonathan Sanchez.

Kemp moved all the way to third on a groundout by Marcus Thames and scored on a sacrifice fly by James Loney.

With the bases now empty, Rod Barajas singled. Aaron Miles followed with an infield hit and both runners moved up on a throwing error by third baseman Pedro Sandoval.

Sanchez then misplayed a grounder off the bat of Hector Gimenez, allowing Barajas to score. Sanchez was relieved by Guillermo Mota, who gave up the game-winning hit to Furcal.

Los Angeles starter Chad Billingsley picked up the win, allowing three runs on five hits over six innings. Three relievers allowed a combined three hits and Jonathan Broxton worked the ninth for his second save in as many games.

San Francisco's runs came on the first major league homer for Brandon Belt, a three-run shot in the fourth.

Lewis builds three-shot lead at Nabisco

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. (UPI) -- Stacy Lewis, hoping to make her first LPGA Tour win a major title, took a three-shot lead Friday after 36 holes at the Kraft Nabisco Championship.

Lewis shared the first-round lead with Brittany Lincicome and moved in front by herself with a 3-under-par 69 over the heat-seared Mission Hills Country Club course.

She scrambled her way to the lead with a two-day total of 9-under 135.

"I was all over the place, but I made some really good up-and-downs and stayed really patient," Lewis said. "I got away with a couple of pars that I probably shouldn't have."

Yani Tseng, the top-ranked player in women's golf, shot a 68 to move into a share of second place with Jane Park and Lincicome at 138.

Lincicome won this tournament three years ago by making an eagle on the final hole.

Amy Yang and Morgan Pressel were tied for fifth at 139. Sophie Gustafson was alone in sixth at 140.

Michelle Wie bounced back from a poor first round to shoot a 67 and was in the tie for eighth place at 141. Sandra Gal, who won her first LPGA Tour event last week at the Kia Classic, was also at 141.

NHL: Colorado 4, Phoenix 3 (SO)

GLENDALE, Ariz. (UPI) -- Ryan O'Reilly tied the score with 4:31 left in regulation Friday and produced the only shootout goal to give Colorado a 4-3 win over Phoenix.

The Avalanche let a 2-0 lead get away, but came back to end a four-game losing streak.

Philippe Dupuis and Jay McClement produced goals that put Colorado in command midway through the second period. Lee Stempniak, Ray Whitney and Shane Doan then delivered unanswered goals for the Coyotes.

Doan's goal came on the power play with 7:37 to go in regulation and O'Reilly tied it 3:06 later. O'Reilly then scored in the second round of the shootout.

Phoenix currently holds down the fourth seed in the Western Conference, but has only a one-point lead over both Los Angeles and Nashville.

Nadal vs. Djokovic in Miami final

MIAMI (UPI) -- Rafael Nadal stormed to a surprisingly easy win over rival Roger Federer Friday to reach the championship match of the Sony Ericsson Open.

Waiting for Nadal in the finals will be Novak Djokovic, who has played 23 matches this year and has won them all.

Nadal improved his record to 15-8 against Federer with a 6-3, 6-2 victory that took a mere 79 minutes. Nadal, ranked No. 1 in the world, lost only 10 points on his serve and broke Federer's serve four times.

Djokovic won his semifinal against Mardy Fish 6-3, 6-1. Having moved into second place in the world rankings, Djokovic has three tournament victories this year -- including the Australian Open.

Djokovic defeated both Nadal and Federer while winning last month in Indian Wells, Calif.

Nadal and Djokovic met just once in 2010, with Nadal pulling out a four-set victory in the championship match of the U.S. Open.
