Sports Update For Indiana Thursday April 28, 2011 | Baseball MLB: St. Louis 6, Houston 5 HOUSTON (UPI) -- Matt Holliday homered and had an RBI single during a four-run St. Louis seventh inning Wednesday, boosting the Cardinals to a 6-5 win over Houston. St. Louis built a 6-0 lead and then held on to win for the fifth time in seven games. The teams have split the opening two outings of a three-game series. Nick Punto, Albert Pujols, Holliday and Lance Berkman all singled in a run during the seventh to give the Cardinals a comfortable lead. Houston then scored three times in the eighth and made it interesting in the ninth against Eduardo Sanchez. Joe Inglett had a one-out single and scored on a triple by Jason Bourgeois. Michael Bourn produced a sacrifice fly, bringing the Astros within one with two away and the bases empty. Angel Sanchez, however, doubled to right and Hunter Pence came up as the potential winning run. Sanchez struck put Pence swinging to end the game and collect his first save. Kyle Lohse (4-1) did not give up a run over seven innings to get the win. He allowed four hits and struck out two. The loss went to J.A. Happ (1-4), who surrendered two runs on five hits in five frames. NFL attorneys had asked U.S. District Court Judge Susan Richard Nelson to put her original order on hold while they prepare an appeal to the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis. The NFL argued before the judge that the league faced "chaos" if a stay was not granted. Nelson was not swayed by that argument and denied it in a 20-page opinion. "The world of 'chaos' the NFL claims it has been thrust into -- essentially the 'free-market' system this nation otherwise willfully operates under -- is not compelled by this court's order," Nelson said in leaving her order to lift the lockout in place. Nelson pointed out that the NFL appeared to be doing business as usual, citing the draft, which starts Thursday, and the release of the league's 2011 schedule of games. McGrane had eight birdies to counter a pair of bogeys at the Blackstone Golf Club in Icheon. Felipe Aguilar, Richard Finch and Park Sang-hyun are tied for second at 5-under 67. Park had six birdies and a bogey but Aguilar and Finch were both bogey free Thursday. Richie Ramsay and Chinnarat Phadungsil are another stroke back at 4-under. McGrane played the back nine first Thursday and was 3-under after seven holes before slipping with a bogey at 17. He came back with a birdie at 18 and made the turn at 3-under. He got to 5-under with birdies at Nos. 2 and 3. He had a bogey at the 536-yard, par 5 fifth hole but again quickly answered with a birdie at 6. A birdie at No. 8 got him to 6-under. "I made plenty of birdies and I putted nicely," McGrane said. "I holed everything inside 15 feet."
