Do you cringe when friends ask if you want to see their vacation videos? You're a video producer and you know how to make videos entertaining. But some people have trouble making the vacation videos interesting. Seriously, how many rock structures can one shoot, and how many castles can one show before they blend together and the viewers' eyes glaze over? Tell them to test your tricks and that you can't wait to see what they learned when they return. Or not. Before hitting that red record button, focus and compose the shot. It's a very portable solution for any air-traveling videographer. The traveling videographer faces a hard choice when taking a flight. Unless you own an expensive, bulletproof case and a video camera not susceptible to impact damage, you might not want to check in your camera. As a carry-on however, it can fit in the overhead compartment where someone will inevitably crush it while attempting to jam in an oversized bag. Or you could spend the whole flight with your camera in your lap. Is there another choice? Enter the Kata ABS-HD Air Bag System. It's an inflatable camera bag that, when deflated, is roughly the size of a cereal box. When inflated, it forms a cushioned barrier around your camera. It's a lot like taping an inflatable kiddie-pool around your camera, except without the duct tape. The top zippers allow access to the camera handle or strap for carrying purposes and the bag accommodates cameras up to 27 inches long. Inflate the bag by blowing into a short tube with a button-operated valve. The packaging estimates approxima tely one-minute blow-up time. But if you're ...Continue More New Product Reviews3 Ways to Edit Video Onlineby Mark Montgomery Online web applications have begun to sneak into the vernacular producer's dictionary. There are some great features that may be of use to you. For you beginners, or mobile video shooters (iPhone 4 movie producers, anyone?) these tools are your best ally. But if there's one word of warning for you, it's to not try to do too much with your produced videos with these tools. They're better for uber simple edits and ext remely short videos. One of the great things about these applications is that all you really need is a modern Internet browser (e.g., FireFox, Chrome, Safari) and a high speed Internet connection (the faster the better). Your computer's processor, hard drive and RAM are...Continue DVD Authoring: Wedding Day Bonus Featuresby Julie Babcock The rice has been thrown, the footage has been captured and edited, and now you're ready for the final stage: DVD authoring.
