Latest Featured Articles Real Software, a provider of cross-platform software development tools for Mac OS X, Windows, Linux and the Web, released the latest version of Real Studio with HTML5 features. The new software is available in both Web and desktop editions. It is enhanced with 42 new features and 184 improvements, according to company officials. The Internet Archive, a massive library housing digital media, has selected Kaltura's Video solution to support both HTML5 and Flash. Using the Kaltura video player, the solution can quickly identify if Flash or HTML5 are needed and the right content is then delivered. Moving beyond Flash, Adobe Systems is previewing a new design tool, code named Edge, for enabling designers to create smooth motion and transitions on Web page elements utilizing the latest Web standards like HTML/HTML5, JavaScript and CSS. According to Adobe, the highlights include visually creating motion content with an easy timeline-based interface, creating new compositions from scratch, importing and energizing Web graphics or adding motion to existing CSS-based HTML layouts, and reliability. Facebook is on the verge of launching a new HTML5-based mobile platform that will enable the social network to build a marketplace for its own applications that bypasses the App Store, according to TechCrunch.
