Make a Call to Ask President Obama for the Promised Fair Farm Rules

Take a Minute to Call Now for a Fair Food System for Farmers and Consumers

Call the White House to Ask President Obama to Deliver on his Fair Farm Rules Promise

Make a Call for Our National Day of Action to Ask President Obama to Implement the Fair Farm Rules

June 22, 2011

Dear Indiana,

I'm calling the White House today to ask President Obama to implement promised rules that will level the playing field for farmers, and I hope you'll join me. Make your call now to ask President Obama to stand up for farmers and consumers by implementing the fair farm rules.

Three years ago President Obama made a campaign promise to take on big agribusiness and the meat industry by passing the fair farm rules.

Two years ago the fair farm rules, which were passed as part of the 2008 Farm Bill started to be worked on by the USDA.

One Year ago these rules were proposed by the USDA, but due to pressure from big agribusiness they have not been finalized or implemented.

Today is the one year anniversary of these rules being proposed, and we're holding a national day of action to ask President Obama to finally implement these rules
that will help level the playing field for farmers and consumers. Can you join us in making the call?

As you know, just a handful of corporations control most aspects of our food system. Tyson, Smithfield and Cargill are some of the biggest players in the meat industry, and right now farmers have a hard time getting a fair price for their livestock. This consolidation in the meat industry is bad for farmers and consumers. The fair farm rules will end some of the most abusive practices in the meat industry, and will help level the playing field so farmers can get a fair price.

When President Obama was campaigning three years ago, he promised to implement these rules that would level the playing field. Farmers and consumers have waited long enough. It's time for the Obama administration to finally implement these rules. Join the thousands of people that are making the call today. It's quick and easy and will make a big difference!

Make your call today, to make sure the fair farm rules are implemented:
