Orange Business Services unveiled its new international gateway in Mumbai after receiving clearance from the Department of Telecommunications for its Indian entity Equant Network Services India Pvt. Ltd.



The news was all expansions and enhancements this week in the world of multi-protocol label switching. After setting up a new network hub at 1 Summer Street, Boston, MA, Transbeam is planning to start off working in its new location by delivering its bandwidth service to customers in the downtown Boston area.



Internet penetration across Europe has grown over 352 percent in the last decade, due to a surge in the use of online video and bandwidth-consuming mobile applications. This growth has been particularly strong in Russia, where it has increased by 1,826 percent, according to a source. As a result, Internet traffic has grown enormously and many Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are planning to migrate to Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6).

Ipanema Technologies, which provides WAN Governance and application aware managed services solutions, announced the availability of Automatic Networking System (ANS) 7.0 which is designed to enable guaranteed Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) application performance over the Wide Area Network (WAN).

Transbeam, which has now expanded into Boston, says it is setting out to offer Metro Ethernet service with speeds ranging from 3Mbps to 45Mbps to businesses throughout Boston area.



Brocade, a leading provider of networking solutions, has recently been selected by the US Army to help improve its Ethernet infrastructure. According to a press release, Brocade will be working at Fort Carson to create a highly resilient network. As part of US Army's Installation Information Infrastructure Modernization Program (I3MP), the initiative is aimed at modernizing the bases' core information infrastructure through the introduction of advanced voice and video capabilities as well as critical military applications.
