PHOENIX, Ariz. (July 30, 2011) ? Last night's games wrapped up the preliminary play in the US Youth Soccer National Championships at Reach 11 Sports Complex to complete the 12 national championship final match-ups. Four national champions will be crowned tomorrow night with the remaining eight on Sunday morning.

The night games featured the Under-17s, Under-18 Boys and Under-19 Girls. Complete box scores and a few highlights are below.

The US Youth Soccer National League continues to prove its strength as nine of the 12 possible slots in the weekend finals (Under-15 through Under-17) will feature teams from the league; seven won their league title. Overall the National League was very well represented in the national championships with league representatives claiming 22 of a possible 36 spots in the tournament.

The traditional field of 48 was expanded to include two teams from the National League, in the Under-15 through Under-17 age groups, in 2007 for the 60 team field at the national championships.

The National Championship Series provides college coaches with a premier stage to evaluate future collegiate players, offering a tremendous impact to players and their families. Over 575 college coaches have attended the Regional and National Championships, with many visiting multiple events. In addition to collegiate staff coaches, members of U.S. Soccer National Staff are also on-site this week analyzing players for potential national team play.

Recap of Friday morning matches: [link]

A few highlights from last night's matches?

Under-17 Girls
In the Under-17 girls division, NSA Premier Fury and Sockers FC, both of Illinois, met with hopes of playing their way into the national championship final. After nearly 80 minutes of scoreless soccer, Jennifer Korn punched home the game winner for NSA and gave her team the chance to claim a national title.

Under-19 Girls
In what proved to be a preview of the Under-19 Girls' final, Dallas Texans 92 Red (N-TX) beat Real Colorado National (CO) 1-0. Alyssa Diggs scored the lone goal of the game in the 60th minute. Dallas Texans will look to reclaim the national championship this team won as U-16s in 2008.

Under-17 Boys
It was going to take some big scores in the Under-17 Boys to produce anything but a Penn Fusion Celtic (E-PA) and Grand Rapids Crew Juniors (MI) rematch on Sunday, but it didn't happen as the two drew 1-1 and will face each other again in the final. Sean Conerty scored his division leading 3rd goal of the week in the 72nd to put Crew ahead, but Keegan Rosenberry leveled for Celtic with a minute to play for the draw. Both teams have been to the National Championships previously. Crew is making their first trip to the final in four straight attempts and Fusion is in their first title match after bowing out of the national tournament in 2009. The two also met earlier in the year in the US Youth Soccer National League, which also ended in a 1-1 score, so they will finally be separated on Sunday with one becoming a national champion.

Under-18 Boys
The Under-18 Boys final will also be a replay of a day three matchup as defending champion Alpharetta Ambush 93 Red (GA) and YMS Thunder (E-PA) drew 1-1 to each finish with identical standings atop the group. Javier Puga netted just three minutes in to put YMS in the lead and 2010 Golden Ball winner (most valuable player) Karl Chester leveled for Ambush in the 56th for the deadlock.
