Suckled Veal is Back!
We have lots of lovely rib and loin chops, cutlets, ground, stew, and whole and
half breast, as well as osso bucco, liver, hearts, kidney, tongue, and bones for
stock. Sorry, the sweetbreads are spoken for :).
The suckled veal is available at the farm store, and we'll have limited open stock
at our farmer's markets this week.
The veal is also available for mail order, and for pre-ordering for pickup at markets.

Plenty of Spring Frolic
Drumm: bright, tangy, runny edge and crumbly center
Amram: smooth and yielding. moderate amount
Cave-Aged Cheddar: 12 months old and lovely
Baudolino: earthy, firm-ish

Benefit for Ray Deter's Sons' College Fund
On Monday, August 1st, Bobolink will be participating in a big event at d.b.a Williamsburg,
to benefit the college tuition fund for the two sons of our good friend Ray Deter,
who was killed in a bicycle accident a few weeks ago.
The event will include bread and cheese and a roast pig from Bobolink, casks of
ale donated by some of the finest craft brewers in the world, food from some of
the city's top chefs, and live music, including Alana Amram (daughter of David Amram,
the man for whom the cheese is named) and others.
Details on other performers and participants will come over the next few days and
weeks.
Admission is $20 for food, drinks not included, or $50 for VIP admission with drinks
included. Those who wish to donate but are unable to attend can purchse "rain check"
tickets. All ticket sales and drink receipts will be donated to the college tuition
fund for these two fine young men, who were Ray's biggest joy and proudest accomplishment.
At the event we will also be auctioning off the first release of a new Bobolink
cheese, washed in Redbreast Irish Whiskey, the pot still whiskey that was Ray's
favorite.
The event will run from 7 to 10 pm on Monday, August 1st. D.b.a Brooklyn is located
at 113 N. 7th, between Berry & Wyethe, a few blocks from the Bedford "L" train,
the first stop in Brooklyn and just fifteen minutes from Union Square (I should
know, right?).
There are a limited number of tickets for this event--I wish we could hold it at
Madison Square Garden, but sadly it's going to be a small event.
