Heavy Metal Quilts

Typically, the only thing daring about quilts is telling your grandmother you don't really need her to make you another one. Unless she's living out her golden years toiling for the dude who makes these: Heavy Metal Quilts.
This collection of head-banging snugglies is threaded together from hundreds of old heavy-metal tees purchased over the past antichrist-knows-how-long by an Art Institute grad whose other lucrative endeavors include setting up tables at Sunday school -- matriculation from which he himself must have graduated Magna Cümlaut. Machine-sewn in the guy's apt, designs range from the just-finished "See You On The Other Side" (an Ozzy-inspired, snake-and-skull piece that incorporates 125 shirts), to "Don't Wake Me Lucifer!", featuring everyone from Metallica to King Diamond, the shrieking Dane whose dirge "Doomed by the Living Dead" isn't half as terrifying as the fact that he now lives in Frisco. Because metal's not all about cowering under a blanket, hand-embroidered jean jackets include an AC/DC job that reads "Night Prowler" and features a howling wolf, plus there are also several varieties of demonic throw pillows upon which to rest your weary tail.
Then again, maybe metal is all about cowering under a blanket, in which case there are plenty more styles, like the Slayer-ific "Raised by Wolves", and the horned-skull "Am I Demon?", with Quiet Riot slapped right underneath a pentagram'd right eyeball -- signifying that, yes, grandma, grandma, we're all crazy now.
